Travelogue - Finland 2013 Photo Diary - Helsinki

posted on: Monday, April 1, 2013

Stayed in Helsinki for one night before departing for the Finnish Lapland. Didn't take much pictures of Helsinki unfortunately. These are my favourite shots, the rest were all rather blah as it started snowing shortly after we started the sightseeing. :/ Excuse my shaggly hair and sheepish grin in the last picture. That was after an 11 hours flight. :P I love the architecture of Finland. Very quaint, modern yet so full of history. :)

Travel Fashion Inspo - Taiwan in April!

posted on: Saturday, March 30, 2013

I am flying to Taiwan for a short getaway next Tuesday and I'm totally stressing out on what to bring! I don't think I was this stressed out packing for Finland and the temperatures went down to -20+degrees over there! It is spring in Taiwan so temperatures are higher, hovering around 20+degrees, yet I am having trouble picking the outfits I want to bring. =.=

I have been scouring Lookbook for some inspirations. Here are a few that have caught my eye! :)

I think I have an obsession with blazers and shorts at the moment. Hmmm... Those two things are definitely going into the luggage! :D

Okay, back to packing followed by bedtime!

Happy Long Weekend!

Oh my, how long has it been?!

It has been a long time since I've updated this space. I'm a terrible terrible blogger. XP

So what have I been up to?

Well, after my last post on my Hong Kong trip with the parents, I got married on 30th November 2012! I am officially a married woman! Frankly, I don't feel any different.

Since my in-laws are mostly in Taiwan, the Hubs and i felt that it would be better to have our Honeymoon in Taiwan. I personally thought that was great but everyone was like. "WHAT?! I would have thought you would want to go to Europe or something?" Well, yes I would have loved to but family comes first and the Hubs has promised me a Honeymoon Part 2! :D

After one month in Taiwan, I came back and rested for a couple of months before I jetted to Finland with the parents! What an experience it was! Finland has totally captured my heart and held it hostage! I swear I left my heart and soul in the Finnish Lapland! The highlight of the trip was learning to ride the snowmobile! So thrilling and exciting! Wish I could do it again! Well, I guess it does help that one of the instructors was rather good-looking, in my opinion. ;P Oops, what am I talking about? I'm MARRIED! XD I am definitely going back, this time with the Hubs!

I'm now back in Singapore but not for long! Flying to Taiwan for a short getaway soon! I'm flying so much recently that I don't even bother to properly unpack my luggage. :P

Have a wonderful long weekend! Happy and Blessed Good Friday! :)

Hong Kong October 2012

posted on: Thursday, November 8, 2012

This is an extremely late post of my Hong Kong trip with the Parents. It was an impromptu trip that my Dad just dropped on us. He was like, " Heyyy! Let's go to Hong Kong next week!" So we booked the tickets and off we went.

We stayed at Hyatt Tsim Sha Tsui. It was a pretty comfy hotel and conveniently located. Loads of restaurants and big shopping malls within walking distance. The MTR was also just outside the hotel's doorstep. :)

As I didn't bring my Lumix GH-1, please bear with my iPhone pictures. :P

View from the room in the day! CBD right across the harbour!

My hotel room. Not too shabby. :P Sadly, didn't get to use the bathtub. :(

Can't quite remember why I took this picture. Anyhoo, Holiday Inn is just right across & it looks like crap to be honest. :P

Agnes B Cafe. Mad yummy cakes!

For some weird reason, my Dad kept wanting to eat Teochew cuisine. So we went to one right below the hotel and it was pretty nice! Beef, oyster congee and duck with liver.

Loads and loads of false lashes. But I didn't get any because I have too many at home and have not been using them. :(

Mad cute Hello Kitty blushers! Reminds me of the Majorlic Majorca ones. Again, didn't get any.

My little Lane Crawford/iFC Mall haul.

  • Alexander McQ Skull Scarf
  • T by Alexander Wang Tanks
  • Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain in 13 Rose Tempura
  • Diptyque Candle Wick Trimmer
  • Diptyque No. 34 Bar Soap for The Fiance.
After a few days of eating and shopping in Hong Kong, we hopped onto the train and went over to Shenzhen! What an experience it was for me. Like totally OMGEEE!!! Didn't take any pictures because I was too busy dodgy frantic PRCs and their massive luggage/cargo. It was pretty crazy at the immigration too.

Shopped around the train station and had dinner there before hopping onto the train back to Hong Kong. By the way, there were so many FAKE Chanel and Hermes bags! They totally looked like the real thing too! :P No, I didn't get any. I'll rather work hard and get the REAL thing. ;P

Alrighty, so that's my Hong Kong trip for ya. Nothing super awesome, just the usual shopping and eating. :)

Thanks for reading! Till next time!

Wedges & Runners

posted on: Monday, October 1, 2012

The last time I shopped at Charles & Keith, I purchased 3 pairs of shoes, (at full price mind you) and became their member. That was a couple of years ago.

I can't say I am HUGE fan of C&K shoes. Occasionally, I'll browse through their website and spot a few pairs that I would very much love to try on. I'll make a trip down to the store only to find it flooded with loads of people, that forces me to make a U-turn and head home immediately.

While shopping with The Fiance today, I wandered into an almost empty (oh, the relief!) C&K store and spotted these babies on the SALE rack!

Love the tan colour and braided leather across the straps. :) Tried them on and, Praise The Lord!, they were 40% off AND they had my size! *cue happy dance* It was originally SGD$55.90 reduced to SGD$33.50. It isn't made of the sturdiest or most expensive materials but for the reduced price, I'm willing to overlook all that. :P

AFter that little "accidental" find, The Fiance and I went to Adidas to get our running shoes. Incidentally, our old running shoes died on us. So out with the old and in with the new!

Mine is obviously the hot pink pair. Both pairs are part of Seduction range. What an apt name. ;) Mine was on SALE at 25% off. Double Score for me! Sadly, The Fiance's pair wasn't. I can't wait to bust out my new runners! I'll probably be known as the girl with the pink runners & crazy dog in my neighborhood soon. ;P

I used to really dislike running. I can't, probably still can't, run for nuts. I'll run for a min or two and just go so out of breath. Since my wedding is just 2 months away, I figured I better try and lose more weight soon. And so, the "Get Running" app to my rescue!

It helps to build up your stamina bit by bit and so far, I'm actually enjoying it. The goal of this app is to get my to run 40mins without stopping at all. Yikes! Can't imagine I'll ever be able to do but let's have some faith ya? ;P

On top of jogging, I've been trying to do some yoga, pilates, weights training and more recently, Ballet Beautiful!

It's been nearly a decade since I danced so you can imagine how "flexible" I am. Whenever I pop a BB dvd into the player, I'll moan, groan and screech like pig to slaughter. Nevertheless, I am determined to regain my flexibility and strengthen my core muscles. :)

Last but not least an OOTD picture along with the beautiful orchids I found in my garden. :)
